UN Special Representative for Somalia condemns terrorist attack in Mandera, Kenya

Mogadishu – The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) for Somalia, Nicholas Kay, condemns yesterday’s brutal killing of at least 28 Kenyan bus passengers by suspected Al-Shabaab militants in Mandera, near the Somali border.


“I strongly condemn yesterday’s horrendous terrorist attack against innocent civilians. It shows a complete disregard for humanity. The perpetrators need to be brought to justice swiftly.”

SRSG Nicholas Kay extends his deep condolences to the families and friends of all those who have suffered as a result of yesterday’s attacks.
He reiterates the UN’s unfaltering commitment to fighting the scourge of terrorism and supporting Somalia and the region to ensure security and stability.
