Int'l partners welcome launch of conf. towards formation of interim central regions administration
Mogadishu, 17 April 2015 – The United Nations, Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the European Union (EU), African Union Mission in Somalia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, Ethiopia, Uganda and Turkey have welcomed the launch of the Adaado conference for the formation of an interim administration in the central regions.

Security Council Press Statement on Terrorist Attack in Mogadishu
The members of the Security Council strongly condemned the attack by Al-Shabaab on 14 April at the Ministry of Higher Education in Mogadishu which killed Somali civilians, as well as members of the Somalia National Security Forces and one AMISOM (African Union Mission in Somalia) soldier, and injured others. The members of the Security Council expressed their sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the people and Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The members of the Security Council wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

Mogadishu, 14 April 2015 – The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia (SRSG), Nicholas Kay, condemns today's terrorist attack on the Ministry of Culture and Higher Education in Mogadishu city that resulted in the death and injuries of civilians, members of the security forces and Government workers.

UNSOM’s office in Garowe deliver generator to support Puntland’s police

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia’s (UNSOM) office in Garowe delivered a 20 KVA generator donated by the Somali Police Force (SPF) to Puntland’s Police Force today in the presence of the Puntland Minister of Security,  the Puntland Police Commissioner, and Commanders of the Central Investigation Department (CID) and Traffic Police.
