Mogadishu – The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, Nicholas Kay, is closely monitoring developments in Baidoa, including the outcome of today’s conference, and has taken note of the Federal Government’s response.

New York – The members of the Security Council are appalled by today’s terrorist attack in Somalia for which Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility. The members of the Security Council condemned the attack in the strongest terms.
