The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, Nicholas Kay, extends condolences on the death of Somali Police Commissioner Brig. Gen. Mohamed Hassan Ismail on 30 October 2014.
"I was saddened to hear of the passing of Police Commissioner Ismail, and extend my sympathies to his friends and family, the Somali Police Force, the Federal Government of Somalia and all Somali people," SRSG Kay said.
Brig. Gen. Ismail was appointed Commissioner of the Somali Police Force in July 2014.
