The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) was established on 3 June 2013. Its mandate ended on 31 October 2024, subsumed to the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS).

Mogadishu – The United Nations family in Somalia sends warm congratulations to all the people of Somalia on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr.

The Officer-in-Charge of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) and the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, Raisedon Zenenga said, “on behalf of the entire United Nations family, I wish you a festive and peaceful Eid. At this special time of year we join you in welcoming the new moon and the end of the holy month of Ramadan. May the blessings of Eid bring much joy and happiness to you and families, and we hope that the spirit of Eid will foster peace and prosperity throughout the country. Ciid Wanaagsan.”
