SRSG Keating wishes Somalis ‘Ramadan Kareem’

PRESS STATEMENT 15/2016

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) for Somalia Michael Keating sent a message of peace and goodwill to all Somalis as the holy month of Ramadan begins.

“On behalf of the entire United Nations family in Somalia, please accept our best wishes for a peaceful Ramadan,“ said SRSG Keating. “I know that Ramadan is important as a time when families and communities can be together, think about what really matters in life, provide support to and pray for the least fortunate. At a time when too many people are victims of violence, this is a time for healing and forgiveness.

“I wish all Somalis a fruitful and blessed month,” said SRSG Keating. “Ramadan kareem. Ramadan wanaagsan.“
