The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) was established on 3 June 2013. Its mandate ended on 31 October 2024, subsumed to the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS).

International partners call for an immediate de-escalation of violence in Laascaanood

Mogadishu International partners* are gravely concerned about the current violence in Laascaanood that has resulted in civilian casualties, including children.

We call for an immediate de-escalation of violence, the protection of civilians, unimpeded humanitarian access and for tensions to be resolved peacefully through dialogue.
