Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo was today inaugurated as the ninth president of Somalia in a colourful ceremony attended by over 1,200 people including two neighbouring presidents, a prime minister and more than 100 diplomats.

Former Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo was today elected federal president of Somalia after defeating incumbent Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in a hotly contested presidential election.
