  • 03 Dec 2014 - Baidoa – The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) for Somalia, Nicholas Kay, welcomed the inauguration of Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan as the head of the newly formed Interim South West Administration (ISWA). Speaking at a ceremony held in Baidoa SRSG Kay said, “I congratulate Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan on his inauguration. Today is a significant step forward in building a strong, united and federal Somalia as envisaged in Vision 2016.

  • 22 Nov 2014 - Copenhagen – The High-Level Partnership Forum (HLPF) concluded today in Copenhagen. The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) for Somalia, Nicholas Kay, commended the successful discussions of the forum, the endorsement of the communique, and the recommitment to the New Deal through the Somali Compact progress report.
  • 19 Nov 2014 - Mogadishu – The United Nations, the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the European Union (EU) and the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) welcomed the formation of the Interim South West Administration (ISWA) in Somalia and the subsequent election of Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan as the new President of the ISWA.
