Mogadishu – Somalia’s economic potential has been under the spotlight for the past two days at a gathering of Somali government, international partners, local entrepreneurs and foreign firms, with a goal of highlighting opportunities for business with international companies.
New York – The Secretary-General strongly condemns the recent attack against the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) base, staffed by Ugandan peacekeepers, in Buulo Mareer, Lower Shabelle, Somalia.
Garowe – Located in northern Somalia, Garowe is home to close to an estimated half a million residents.
Of these, nearly 75,000 people are internally displaced due to climate change and conflict.
Mogadishu – Ahead of district council elections in Puntland on 25 May, Somalia’s international partners* commend the people of the Federal Member State of Puntland for their determination to deliver on their democratic aspirations and commitments.
Mogadishu – The achievements and potential of Somali women in their country’s maritime sector were celebrated today at an event to mark the International Day for Women in Maritime.
