SRSG Keating wishes Somalis ‘Ramadan Kareem’

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) for Somalia Michael Keating sends his best wishes to the people of Somalia on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

“This year Ramadan takes place as 6.7 million Somalis including hundreds of thousands of displaced people need humanitarian assistance because of the drought. This makes efforts to promote peace and to improve welfare all the more important and meaningful.”

“On behalf of the entire United Nations family in Somalia, please accept our best wishes for a peaceful fruitful and blessed month,” said SRSG Keating. “Ramadan kareem. Ramadan wanaagsan.”
