Mogadishu – The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, Nicholas Kay, is closely monitoring developments in Baidoa, including the outcome of today’s conference, and has taken note of the Federal Government’s response.

New York –The members of the Security Council are appalled by today’s terrorist attack in Somalia for which Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility. The members of the Security Council condemned the attack in the strongest terms.
